Born in Zimbabwe, to a rather nomadic family, I lived in Swaziland and Belgium and developed an ability to quickly adapt to new environments – as a result I’m a keen traveller with a curious nature. I graduated with a BCom Honours degree in Strategic Management from the University of Johannesburg and after various stints in the corporate world, working in the sports marketing and private banking fields, I felt led to make a personal change. I began working for a dynamic, life-changing NPO: The 4Change Foundation, an organisation founded upon the fundamental principle: “we can all change our world, by giving others a chance to change theirs”. Soon thereafter, armed with this new perspective on life, I joined the eNews Channel, now eNCA as a Sport Anchor. My interest in current affairs got the better of me and I soon made the change to breakfast television by joining e.tv’s Breakfast Show, Sunrise, where I would interview guests on a multitude of subjects.
My off-screen passions include anything relating to my passion for music, fitness and culture. My down time involves devouring a good novel or “walking the course” with my pro-golfer husband, Warren. In 2012 I completed a year-long fitness transformation; this after a serious accident left me with two fractured vertebrae. I have since used this as a platform to develop my brand in the fitness industry, promoting active living and a positive change in lifestyle.
I also own a golf experiential marketing company, Kairos Golf, as well as a creative firm, SteelVelvet Creative Concepts.
